Note: For this interview I will be using A for my questions and responses when needed. We were also Disc golfing during this interview !
1. For the people who don’t know, who are you ?"
Pablo -”My name is Pablo, Ambriz”
2.And where are you from ?
Pablo -”Grandview, WA”
3. What stance do you usually skate ?
Pablo -”I’m always usually regular unless somehow I end up going backwards”
3-1/2. So would you say you’re able to skate switch ?
Pablo - “Fuck no bro, I just skate regular; I do snowboard switch a little.”
A - I do the same thing !
Pablo - “ yeah on a snowboard switch feels more comfortable”
4. How long has it been since you got on a board ?
Pablo - “ Probably like 3 months… but we’ll be back on it pretty soon; for now I'm just doing something different.”
5. Yeah, how do you like Disc Golf so far ? How new to it are you ?
Pablo - “3 months; as soon as I started Disc Golf I kinda stopped getting on the board, it was right around the same time. I just let one of my friends borrow the board and they’ve been using it so I was like you use that, I’ma use these see whatsup.”
6. Whats a trick that you think even though its been 3 months, you still got on lock ?
Pablo - “ Ollie hahaha; nah you know I’ve got a cruiser in my car and yeah at work I’ll get on. Well once to be honest but got on it and I kickflipped it. I popshuv’d it, did a stall too.”
A - So probably kicklfip ?
Pablo - “Probably I think I got all my tricks still maybe, I haven’t been just sitting around so.. I’m still in shape… haha not even ! Honestly yeah I think, I wanna say I got all my tricks still so, hey maybe we’ll put it to the test ? Game of Skate, you guys choose who you want me to go against. Just dont be messed up and put me against William.”
7. Who’s your local favorite skater ?
Pablo - “Jorge bro. My boy Jorge Najera”
8. Favorite Pro Skater ?
Pablo - “ Jorge Najera ! Haha I haven’t been keeping up with all the videos right now but Chris Joslin has always been my favorite. PROD is always a good one; Someone younger, I always forget his name but he skates for Erased with Luis Mora.”

9. What would be your dream trick ?
Pablo - “ My dream trick ? Fuck that’s hard, I’ve always wanted to do like kickflip crook to nollie inward heel but don’t think that dream is coming true but I think I can get crook to nollie inward heel out one day; If I keep skating, but for vert a mean’ol frontside air over coping. You could take a picture with your boys drinking while you’re up there mid-air noone ever thinks of that everyone wants to do The N.A.C but what about the vert. Dont you want to be like Tony Hawk. Another favorite skater Tony Hawk and Wee Man. Wee Man still gets down ! “
10. So how do you think skateboarding has helped you develop in this sport ? (Disc Golf)
Pablo - “ Honestly bro, maybe a little, its totally a completely different sport but like how people like; you can definitely take stuff that you learn from skateboarding, like keep trying and trying and I take it into this like I come out alone and just stand over there 30 feet away from the basket, boom.. boom , go grab my disc, try it again or I have a basket myself and set it up and 30 feet away just tossing back and forth y’know.”
A- To be honest it resembles skateboarding cause sometimes you go and setup your camera and just you by yourself..
Pablo- “Yup ! You try back and forth, you try and go this way then go this way, you get that little spot you always..”
A- “Grab a rail set it up and just hit it for hours”
Pablo- “Yup ! Exactly , exactly yeah and then just have a good time with it y’know of course you get mad and stuff when you mess up shots ; like I’m about to miss this one.”
*slaps the disc together*
A- Just like skateboarding !
Pablo- “Gotta hype yourself up !”

11. So whats your favorite local park in Washington state ?
Pablo- “ Honestly I love my local park, Sunnyview. That was the first park I started skating ; we even made it bigger now come skate it ! Everyone says it sucks but maybe you just suck at skating. JK we’re all getting better together .”
12. How long have you been skating for ?
Pablo- “Well I’ve been on and off a lot but I started skating in like 8th grade summer.”
A- Thats kinda late wouldn’t you say ?
Pablo- “ Oh yeah y’know I used to skate back in the day when I was like 6 but it was like all my older cousins skating they knew a whole bunch of tricks, I had a cousin, my cousin Tony; he gets so down bro. Thats why I started skating because my cousin Tony and Juan. I stole my cousin Juans board shoutout to Juan; ZDEDICATE.. my boy sorry I stole your board I had to use it bro.. but he never told me anything about it shoutout to Juan “
13. Whats your favorite skate video ?
Pablo- “Shrimp Blunt ! By shake junt, you’ve got to watch it my boy !”
14. Is there a skatepark you’d want to travel to ?
Pablo-“Y’know there is a skatepark that I miss, Dalles, Oregon, Dalles.. and they just got an extension too ! That was my favorite park; he homie Jay, you guys all know Jay I think; if not you need to know this guy, a legend; he’s a living legend bro but yeah we used to head 2 hours out there to skate but anyways we used to travel to Oregon and shit, and we used to hit Dalles and Hood river during the day and skate it for like 2 to 3 hours each and then just eat. Used to eat some pizza bro, come on who doesnt like peekza, PEEKZA alright. But jay was actually the one who got me into disc golfing so blame Jay if you’re wondering why I’m not at the skatepark, it’s Jays fault actually.
15. When you skate, do you skate with headphones in or out ?
Pablo- Depends who I’m skating with haha…. well actually I always usually skate with headphones out, I dont know bro I just, I go to have a good time y’know, talk to people. I like to mess around, talk to people, skate, y’know like getting in the zone is like crazy. I feel like I’m about to fight someone, I get mad when I’m in the zone, honestly, its only good for sometimes.
Pablo- I want to tell a little story a skate story. Alright bro so couple years ago I wanna say like 2023, 2022, me and the homie George; I think a lot of you know George too shout out to my boy George. He’s a papi now, but anyways and shout out to the one and only, the brother, Andy Bonzis, cause we were chillen with him and someone called him up and they were like “Hey I’ve got like a 20 foot rail like two blocks away, you should come pick it up.” and we were like “for free?” and he was like “ Just come pick it up and it’s yours.” We didn’t have anything to pick it up so me and George, I was like “Bro we’re young, we’re young, we’re skinny, we’re strong, got alot of energy, let’s go grab it and walk back then we’ll skate it”. So thats exactly what we did and now we have a 20 foot rail at the bonzi’s DIY.
16. For the people who don’t know what the bonzi DIY is, what is that ?
Pablo- You dont know, you dont know… and if you know, you know, you don’t know you can know but you gotta know to know, you know ?
17. What’s your favorite childhood skate memory ?
Pablo- The best childhood memories, was look me the homie, Jorge Najera and Mario Najera, my bros. Bro these guys, we just fucking, in the fucking winter bro when it was cold as fuck, we’d just fucking skate in the garage, a little like, bro it was like it was small bro, it was small. But just a little slab of concrete, a bunch of shit all around us and we’d just be skating flat. Learning how to do kick flips and variel flips, heel flips, all our little tricks bro like, those, were the best times. One time bro me and Jorge were in there and I fell and I spilled some gasoline over, and instead of this guy coming over to help me, he comes over, this shit was fucking funny bro. He comes over, he lights a light, a lighter right in front of me, and I’m like “ Oh shit bro !” , gas everywhere haha. It was funny as fuck. It was funny bro it was a good joke, it was far away it wasn’t gonna light.
